has aroused my interest | WordReference Forums

11/12/2007 · Does the following sentence make sense in English ? 'The international dimension of your company is what has aroused my interest'. I am writing a covering letter to apply for an internship in a company based abroad (that is to say not in France). I think it makes sense, but I got the feeling that it sounds a little bit pushy, what do you say?

raise / arouse interest | WordReference Forums

8/6/2012 · "Aroused" means "generated", but "his interest" means he was already interested - so there is a logical incompatibility. "Raised his interest" sounds unfamiliar to me. It seems to mean "increased a pre-existing interest", but I would say "These experiences increased/deepened his interest in criminology".
